How Does Pair Dental Screen Specialists?

Pair Dental has been matching specialists for 6+ years, mostly through word-of-mouth referrals. One of our co-founders is a traveling Periodontist and our CEO is a General Dentist. We realize that Specialists usually don’t have a strong network outside of their immediate community, limiting their ability to connect their services to areas of need.

Pair Dental provides a digital hub for Practice Owners to source talented Specialists outside of their existing network. As we move forward, the efficiencies and opportunities our platform provides will continue to attract the most talented Specialists in the country.

What is Pair Dental’s Specialist screening process?

We conduct a background check of Specialists by reviewing the status of their state license and any history of suspensions or revocations. Our team will also conduct an online reputation search to see if anything helpful can be learned from patient reviews. Since most Specialists have been referred to us, we like to get to know them on a personal level.

The registration form tells us about their training, skillsets, and experience performing specialty. If approved, our team conducts a video interview to gauge the Specialist’s communication skills and to discuss their preferences, expectations, and efficiency.

How are Pair Dental matches made?

Our team evaluates and proposes matches based on skillsets, distance, clinical expectations, compensation, and other special requests. As a Practice Owner, you will have an opportunity to review the Specialist’s profile and decide on whether you’d like to meet them, after which we send an official introduction.

How do Practices attract and retain the best Specialists?

Operator skill, communication ability, efficiency, motivation — these are all factors that can differentiate a good vs. a GREAT Specialist for your practice. In order to attract and retain the right talent, it’s important to understand that top Specialists are being given offers frequently. Your practice can stand out by:

  1. Purchasing instrument sets to ease their travel burden
  2. Going out-of-network with insurance companies
  3. Providing ample staff support and ensuring the office manager is proactively communicating with and preparing for the specialist
  4. Encouraging consistency in scheduling and production

The Specialty community is vast and not all specialists are created the same. That’s why we take the time to get to know our providers to establish better matches and experiences for our customers. If you’re interested in learning more about our services, please reach out and a member of our team will be in touch.
